Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the Prompt Plus app and this website handle, who processes it, and the choices you have.

Last updated 28 October 2026

Summary

  • This website has no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or cookies.
  • The Prompt Plus app stores your settings, prompts and encrypted OpenRouter API key on your Mac. It has no analytics or telemetry, and it doesn't send us your prompts, results or key.
  • When you use a feature, the app sends the relevant text (and any image you attach) to OpenRouter, which passes it to the AI model provider you chose. OpenRouter and the provider handle it under their own policies.
  • If you buy Prompt Plus, Stripe handles the payment. We use your email address and purchase status to deliver your download and to re-send it when you ask.
  • If you join our launch updates list, we keep your email address to send you news about Prompt Plus until you unsubscribe.

Who we are

Prompt Plus is made by Fresh'n Up AU Pty Ltd (ABN 11 678 658 823), a company registered in Victoria, Australia, which runs the AI Huntr Consulting brand ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at Gerard@aihuntrconsulting.com.

This website

This website (https://promptplus.aihuntrconsulting.com) doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded social media or third-party scripts and fonts. Our pages are served from our own site. When you download the free trial or the full version, your browser is sent to a short-lived link on GitHub, which stores the installer files. GitHub receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the file, under its own privacy statement.

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel processes technical information about each request to deliver pages and protect the service, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These request logs are kept by Vercel under its own policies, and we can see them in our Vercel account to fix problems and prevent abuse.

Some pages handle sensitive links, such as the page you return to after checkout and the download page linked from our emails. Those pages remove purchase details and download tokens from the address bar as soon as they open, and they tell your browser not to share the page address with other sites.

Purchases and payments

Checkout is provided by Stripe using Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe, through its Link service, acts as the merchant of record for your purchase: it collects your payment details, calculates and collects tax, sends your receipt, and handles payment support. Stripe processes this information as an independent business under its own privacy policy, including any cookies used on its checkout page. We never receive your full card number.

Stripe makes details of each transaction available to us in our Stripe account, such as your email address, the name and billing details you entered at checkout, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded, was refunded or was disputed. Our servers use your email address and purchase status to:

  • show your download after checkout and email you a download link
  • check that a purchase is paid and not refunded or disputed before giving out a download link
  • send a new link when you ask for one on the recovery page
  • answer support and refund requests

We don't run a separate customer database: Stripe's transaction records are the record of your purchase. Our server logs mask email addresses and don't record full payment session IDs or download tokens.

Emails

We send purchase confirmation, payment-failed and download recovery emails through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend processes your email address and the message content to deliver them. Purchase and recovery emails contain a personal download link; none of our emails contain tracking images.

If you sign up for launch updates on our home page, we store your email address as a contact in our Resend account and use it only to email you about Prompt Plus, such as its launch and new versions. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you by email. We don't send these emails to anyone who hasn't signed up, and purchase emails don't add you to this list.

If you email our support address, we use what you send only to help you.

The app: data on your Mac

Prompt Plus stores its data in ~/Library/Application Support/promptplus on your Mac. This includes:

  • Your settings: chosen model and preferred provider, keyboard shortcuts, favorite and recent models, and which master or system prompt is active. A cached copy of OpenRouter's public model list is kept in a separate file. If the settings file ever can't be read, the app keeps the unreadable copy next to it under a new name instead of deleting it.
  • Your OpenRouter API key, encrypted using encryption backed by the macOS Keychain. The last four characters are stored unencrypted so the app can show which key is saved.
  • Master prompts and system prompts you save, Improvement Lab drafts when you click save, and Markdown files you export.
  • In the trial edition, when you first opened it and when it was last used, so the app can count the 7 days. These dates are stored in the settings file and also in the app's macOS preferences (user defaults for com.promptplus.app, in ~/Library/Preferences).
  • A debug log (promptplus-debug.log) used to diagnose problems. Released versions record only warnings and errors. API keys are removed from every line before it's written, and the log is designed not to contain the text of your prompts. When it reaches about 1.5 MB it's rotated, so only the current log and one older copy are kept. It stays on your Mac unless you choose to send it to us. The first time this version runs, it deletes debug logs left by earlier versions.

None of this is sent to us.

The app: what goes to OpenRouter

Prompt Plus connects only to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai). Every request includes your API key, so OpenRouter can authenticate it and bill your account, and headers that identify the app by name and website. Here's what else is sent, and when:

Data the app sends to OpenRouter
When you…What is sent
Use Instant EnhanceThe text you selected, Prompt Plus's instructions, and any master or system prompt you've loaded as active context.
Use Clarify EnhanceThe selected text, your answers to its questions, any screenshot or clipboard image you attach (only if your chosen model accepts images; see Clipboard, screenshots and permissions), and any active context.
Use the WorkshopYour task or prompt, your interview answers, and any active context.
Use the Improvement Lab or Prompts & SystemsThe system prompt, messages, task descriptions or interview answers you write there.
Test your key or load modelsA request to check the key and its credit limit, or to fetch the public list of models. No prompt text is sent.

OpenRouter forwards requests to the model provider you chose, or one it selects for you. OpenRouter and model providers process your content under their own terms and privacy policies, which you should read: see OpenRouter's privacy policy. OpenRouter's documentation says it keeps request metadata such as token counts, and may sample a small number of prompts to categorize usage. Model providers have their own logging and data-use policies, and your OpenRouter privacy settings can limit which providers are used.

Don't include passwords, payment details or other information you wouldn't want an AI provider to process.

Clipboard, screenshots and permissions

  • Accessibility lets Prompt Plus read the text you've selected and paste the result, only when you use a shortcut or menu command.
  • Clipboard: if the app can't read your selection directly, it copies it using the clipboard. Just before Prompt Plus changes the clipboard (to copy your selection or to paste a result), it keeps a copy of what was there, in memory only. Afterwards it puts that copy back only if the clipboard still holds exactly what Prompt Plus put there, so anything you copied in the meantime is kept. Clipboard contents that password managers and similar apps mark as concealed or temporary are never read, kept or put back. Text that Prompt Plus places on the clipboard only to paste it is marked as temporary, so clipboard managers that honor that marker don't save it. If you switch to another app before a result is ready, Prompt Plus doesn't paste; it leaves the result on the clipboard and tells you. Your most recent result is also kept in memory, until you quit, for Copy Last Result in the menu-bar menu.
  • Images in Clarify Enhance: Paste image reads an image from your clipboard only when you click it, and Attach screenshot captures the screen only when you click it. An attached image is sent to OpenRouter with each Clarify request in that session until you remove it. If the model you chose doesn't accept images, or Prompt Plus can't confirm that it does, Prompt Plus doesn't send the image and doesn't switch to another model. The panel tells you, suggests a model that accepts images when it can, and lets you continue without the image.
  • Screen Recording is optional. It's used only when you click Attach screenshot in Clarify Enhance. The screenshot is shown to you and saved to a temporary file that's deleted right after it's read.
  • Notifications show results and errors. macOS may also ask whether Prompt Plus can control another app, so Clarify Enhance can return to the app you were using and paste there.

You can change these permissions at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

No telemetry

The app doesn't include analytics, advertising, crash reporting or usage tracking. It doesn't send us your prompts, results, settings or API key. Links in the app, such as this policy or OpenRouter's key page, open in your web browser.

Retention and deletion

  • App data stays on your Mac until you delete it. To remove it, quit Prompt Plus, delete the app, and delete the ~/Library/Application Support/promptplus folder. To also remove the encryption key used for your saved API key, open Keychain Access and delete the item named "promptplus Safe Storage". The trial edition also keeps its dates in ~/Library/Preferences/com.promptplus.app.plist. Removing data from your Mac doesn't delete your key on OpenRouter; you can do that at openrouter.ai/keys.
  • Purchase records are kept by Stripe for as long as needed for the transaction, tax and legal obligations, under its policies. We keep what we need to provide downloads, refunds and support.
  • Launch updates sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Email delivery records are kept by Resend under its policies. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you.
  • Website request logs are kept by Vercel under its policies. Download requests are logged by GitHub under its policies.

You can ask Stripe's Link service to delete the information it holds about your purchase. If that happens, we may no longer be able to confirm your purchase to re-send a download link, so download the app first.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. Email Gerard@aihuntrconsulting.com and we'll respond as the law requires. We may need to keep some records, such as transaction records, to meet legal obligations. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. The service providers named in this policy (Vercel, Stripe, Resend, GitHub and, for app requests you make, OpenRouter and model providers) may process information in the United States and other countries.

Children

Prompt Plus isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top. For significant changes, we'll make the change clear on this website.
